Engagement at Vincigliata Castle

Welcome to Castle of Vincigliata

It was the year 1840 and a young Englishman walked among the hills of Fiesole. He fell in love with what was then only a ruined castle. He bought it and decided to bring that decadent place back as it was 800 years ago. John wanted to revive the romantic dream of the Middle Ages in the hills above Florence. This is a story of loves, hopes, dreams, marriages and legends. Love for Arts; for challenges; for beauty and , obviously, love between two lovers. Welcome to the Castle of Vincigliata!

This corner of the Middle Ages has amount 1000 years of history and was able to witness the Renaissance of Florence, which overlooks. The first stone of this castle was placed in 1031 by the Visdomini family. Many families followed, but the legend that lingers within its walls belong to Bianca di Usibaldi who had a love affair with a rival family. The ending was tragic and it is thought that since then she has been the protector of Vincigliata’s love stories. It took more than 10 years of passion and all the unique skills of the Florentine artisans to revive the fortunes of this amazing castle. Following was the destination of pilgrimages of famous people who stopped at the castle during the grand tour.

A Romance in Vincigliata

A place where you can do your “first dance” in rooms adorned with 16th century frescoes. A place where you can welcome your guests in a garden in a full romantic italian style.

An engagement at Vincigliata castle is the ideal choice for two romantic and timeless lovers…… just a few minutes from Florence.

Engagement in Positano

A beautiful engagement in the hearth of Amalfi Coast: Positano

Arriving by car in Positano is an experience. The road to anoint the mountain is narrow and winding, and in summer you can find a lot of traffic but you can enjoy a wonderful view: colorful houses sticking out of the side of the mountain until you can find the sea. I remember this Engagement in Positano like it was yesterday. This was my first time in Positano, on the Amalfi coast. In this place you can find Italy …. food, history, shops, art of getting along and the hospitality. I love this place! Steep and narrow stairways branch out across the country with breathtaking views: ideal for a pre wedding photo session. Christine and Louis are a very close couple, and in a few days will get married not far from here.

Engagement at Villa Il Salviatino, Tuscany

Elegant engagement at the stunning Villa il Salviatino, Florence

Ikem and Ojhi are a young couple from London on holiday in Florence. I meet them on a hot mid-July afternoon for their engagement at Villa il Salviatino. This villa is a stunning and perfectly hand restored 15th century villa that lies proudly on the hillside of Fiesole, with inspirational views of Florence and the rolling Tuscan landscape. Each room has a unique décor bringing the guest back to the splendor of the Renaissance nobility. The panorama of Florence that can be admired from Villa il Salviatino is amazing. This Renaissance villa of Florence transformed into a hotel a few years ago, is truly spectacular, with the dome of Brunelleschi and Giotto’s bell tower so close to you that you can touch them with a finger.

The atmosphere that gave us the Villa il Salviatino was fantastic, elegant and hospitable, but not formal and very friendly……ideal for an engagement session! It was a real pleasure to spend an afternoon together with this two lovers. During the engagement there was much feeling between us. I would have liked to photograph them for much more time … but the evening arrived quickly.

Kind words from the couple:

We are so happy to have meet you it means the world to us what you have done. Your energy and heart is infectious. Thank you for coming and becoming part of something very special to us.

Engagement in Ancona

Engagement at the Passetto caves in Ancona

In the last summer I had the pleasure of taking an Engagement in Ancona. I was born in this city and it’s always a great pleasure for me to come back. A particular city, with 1000 facets and a strong bond with the sea. When I met Annalisa and Michele for the first time there was a strong harmony between us: it was not difficult to decide the ideal location for the engagement.

The “Passetto caves” are a timeless place; special for every person who was born in this city. The caves are the true soul of Ancona; colorful shelters dug inside the cliff in the early 1900 by the fishermen to harbour their boats. Today their heirs, known as “grottaroli”, spend their summers here eating fresh fish and relaxing. The various coloured wooden doors and the lights make the “Passetto caves” a very magical and attractive place both by day and night. The rocky beach of Passetto, part of Conero Park, is located below the cliff and is accessible thanks to a large and long white staircase that leads down to the shore of the Adriatic Sea.

That’s ideal for a timeless and romantic Engagement in Ancona! We decided to meet a few minutes after dawn on a summer morning.
The light and the sea did the rest.
The city still slept.

Engagement in Boboli Gardens, Florence

A romantic day with two Siberian guys in Florence

Elen and Anton are two Siberian guys from Krasnoyarsk. I realized that there was great harmony between us since the first email. They were looking for a photographer to document their engagement at Boboli gardens in Florence. I met them in front of Boboli Gardens on a sunny afternoon in mid-June. Elen and Anton, as in Russian tradition, were dressed in the same clothes as their wedding. After a few minutes I realized that I was in front of a couple that came from another era: elegance, refinement and delicacy were in every word. I was totally in love with this couple and everything was very natural. During the photo session I understood even more how important it was for them that afternoon: how important photography was to them as a “mirror of memory”.

Honeymoon in Florence at Boboli Gardens

On the hillside behind Palazzo Pitti lie the magnificent Boboli Gardens, one of the most important Italian gardens and a fantastic open-air museum. Boboli Gardens are more like a mysterious labyrinth of hedges and cypress trees winding through hilly terrain. This green oasis in the heart of Florence is sumptuously laid out with antique furnishings and priceless works of Italian paintings and sculptures. Themes of alchemy and the occult mingled with myths of classical antiquity in the natural caverns decorated to enhance an atmosphere of enchantment. The day was ending and we decided to take a walk along the Arno river. Thank you Elen and Anton, from the bottom of my heart!

Kind words from the couple:

I was so glad that Guido was taking photos us. He’s really professional of the business and he have made us such wonderful photos!
