Seemingly situated in the middle of nowhere, Masseria Potenti is lost in time. Once through the great iron gates that guard this centuries-old walled farm, guests forget the outside world and unwind in the total peace and quiet that surrounds this very special place. The ideal time to get to this corner of Apulia is that on sunset, when the dazzling white of the buildings takes on shades of pink. Masseria Potenti is a testimony of the Apulia countryside in full respect of nature and sustainability. The slow-placed villages near the Masseria boast a stunning landscape, deep-blue seas, century of history and are blissfully isolated from the 21st century. Emma and Dan spent a wonderful few days before their destination wedding on Masseria Potenti.
This couple was looking for a place out of our time where you can share unforgettable days with people they love. A place where you don’t feel like a guest but part of a big family. A place where you can abandon the frenzy of their days and where you can find yourself. Masseria Potenti was their ideal place. The days were spent relaxing between a reading, a swim in the pool and the fabulous homemade pasta. The day of their destination wedding in Masseria Potenti finally arrived and I can’t wait to document their love story.
To make their wedding day as special as unforgettable, Georgie and Tim could not have chosen better location: the charming San Pietro in Valle Abbey.
This idyllic estate is located in true heart of the Umbrian countryside between Marmore Falls and Spoleto, completely surrounded by the thick and luxurious vegetation that covers all the Nera Valley. Arrival to this historical abbey is a journey through time. Landscape and architecture take you back to the twelfth century. The privilege of being able to rest in this masterpiece of yesteryear is really priceless: a dreamy place, isolated, immersed in nature and history. In San Pietro in Valle Abbey, it is useless for you to bring your clocks, because here time has a different rhythm: an eternal and unchanging time, still standing at the golden age of the ancient ballads and romances, the legends of the Templar Knights and courtly love. Here the Middle-Ages have never been so close.
It particular geographical conformation has preserved this region much more than the neighboring ones (such as the much more famous Tuscany) from the modern process of wild urbanization. Moreover, Umbria has always been a region strongly tied to its origins, jealous of its traditions, which still retains its rural soul; a place whose peace and silence inspire contemplation.
Two of many unforgettable moments during this wedding in Umbria
The entire wedding day at San Pietro in Valle Abbey was something out of a fairytale, with a couple of moments really stood out to me. No doubt the moment immediately after the touching ceremony was one of those. Coming out of the church, hand in hand and with the wedding rings on their fingers, Georgie and Tim’s smiles shone in the warm July sun. Their happiness was echoed by that of all the guests. As a frame, bouquets of pastel-colored flowers perfectly matched with the sweet shades of the ancient frescoes.
The shootings along the cypress avenue speak for themselves, we believe. They speak of love, romance, art and life. The other memorable moment of this stunning wedding in San Pietro in Valle was certainly what happened later in the day. Till late at night the lovely couple, together with all the relatives and friends, give rise to an amazing party in the courtyard and wild dances overwhelmed by the irresistible jazz sound of the “Fire Dixie Band”. Moreover, speeches deserve some special mention, because their grace and sweetness, energy and vibes were not just part of the ceremony, but very much part of the whole day.
I’m a lucky guy: I’m a wedding photographer San Pietro in Valle Abbey!
Having the opportunity to attend incredible weddings like this one in San Pietro in Valle, with people like these, in such a beautiful place, is the reason why I will never tire of repeating how much I love doing my job. Just as I’m sure that Georgie and Tim will always keep this photographic work with them in the UK, I will always bring in my heart alive the memory of their genuine passion for life and love.
Country wedding in Val D’Orcia at Fattoria del Colle
For several reasons I have a beautiful memory of this wedding at Fattoria del Colle. Alberto and Enrica lives in Turin; but they have a strong link with Tuscany. When they want to breathe some peace, they take refuge for a few days at the Fattoria del Colle: a charming farm surrounded by the nature of Val d’Orcia. The beautiful and untouched landscape is the absolute protagonist in Val d’Orcia.
I met them for the first time on the day of their wedding at Fattoria del Colle and it all came very naturally. After a short ceremony in San Giovanni d’Asso we went to take pictures in the countryside ….. along the way. After a couple of minutes by car we found the ideal place. I remember it was around 7pm and the light was starting to become softer; the sky was very clear and the earth was very bright red. The silence was almost deafening! It was a late summer evening and I think I was very lucky to be there. The atmosphere was almost surreal …. like being on the moon!
Kind words from the couple:
Our first approach to Guido was through his internet site: we were desperately searching for a non-traditional wedding photographer, someone who could catch unique moments while the are happening, avoiding too many posed pictures. We immediately found his works fresh, magic and very original, it really seemed each shot carried his personal style. When we contacted him, he confirmed to be also a nice guy, honest and professional. The day of our marriage, we particularly appreciated his ability to be everywhere, but in a very discrete way. The pictures we received, finally, were really nice and “real”…exactly what we expected!
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my work.
From Caroline: “Our love story began in Florence where the aura and romantic atmosphere made it very easy to fall in love. We spent our first date at Piazzale Michelangelo and quickly began to realize we couldn’t watch this love fade by distance. So once I went back to the United States we decided to continue to see each other. We moved to Dallas and started our life there with us both working in the same field, weddings and events. We loved seeing our friends and family gather for our Volterra in the most beautiful place we could imagine, Tuscany!
Country wedding at Podere Scopicciolo: the hearth of Tuscany
These two guys have decided to spend their wedding day in the “City of the Wind and the Rock” as described by poet Gabriele D’Annunzio.
A big thanks to Wiskow and White to make this wonderful wedding at Podere Scopicciolo perfect. Huge thanks goes to Cecilia Gazzo for welcoming me to Podere Scopicciolo.
Podere Scopicciolo is a wonderful farm near Volterra; is more than just beautiful Tuscan farmhouse; is one of the very few buildings in Tuscany that can be titled to be 100% eco-friendly and energetically independent. The hills of Volterra is a place that will live, not only in memory, but probably in dreams! The peace and tranquillity that surrounds your home is something that is very rare to find.
Kind words from the couple:
